1.
Call and schedule with I-DEP preferably one week in advance of the deposition
(notice of 3 days or less normally carries an expedite charge). To place an order, we need
case captioning information and deponent name. We also need the name and contact information
for a Network person or IT person at the deposition site, to interface with, in order for
I-DEP to Certify the site for Internet Depositions.
2.
A certified real-time court reporter (CRR) should be ordered if you wish to receive the live
scrolling transcript. This enables offsite participants the ability to “rewind” the transcript
after interruptions in the office. I-DEP has a network of court reporting agencies
throughout the U.S., Alaska and Europe and will schedule the service for you at no charge
(they will bill you directly).
3.
I-DEP's Network Operations department will test and Certify the deposition site
for the Internet broadcast. If any technical issues arise, we will contact the scheduling party
with options for proceeding. This is why more advance notice is better for all involved,
(e.g. scheduling 2 weeks prior to the deposition), giving the scheduling party sufficient time
to make decisions and adjustments based on our recommendations.
4.
I-DEP will then arrange to have the equipment set up at the deposition site, or if
you hire us to do Videography also, we send one of our trained Videographers to the site to
perform both services*.
5.
Prior to the deposition date, I-DEP contacts each new user (who has not previously
used I-DEP) to perform a preliminary login to the system and brief training session.
6.
On deposition day, the offsite and onsite participants login to the User Interface by going to
the I-DEP website, www.i-dep.com, and entering
their login information previously emailed to them.
7.
I-DEP has Help Desk staff available by phone and email before and during all
depositions to assist with logins and other issues that may arise.
* I-DEP videography rates are extremely competitive and average about $125/hour,
when ordered in conjunction with our Internet Deposition Service. The digitizing of your video
onto DVD or CD is included at no charge. Additionally, I-DEP employs redundant video capture
techniques for quality control. Transcript to video Synchronization is also available.
